These guys look great! Definitely refreshing from some of the ham beasts we have here in the US who try to pass themselves off as Fallschirmjager.

          Hi, here you go:

          http://www.tiger-1.org/

Our Soviet group was next door to Bob's FJ group. We realy enjoyed watching the jump display which got a good crowd of public each time it took place.

          Cheers, Ade.

Let me know if you guys ever make it stateside to the midwest. The Commemorative Air Force (Southern Minnesota Wing) has a Spanish CASA 352 ("JU-52") decked out as an aircraft of 7th Staffel KGzbV1. I've studied the aircraft enough that I know the flaws historically and get my wife to cut them out of the picture.

I'm working on trying to get a number of people together for shots loading/unloading/preparing/milling about smartly/etc. The kinds of photos that have been seen around Tante Ju in originals. I can provide probably several RZ harnesses myself (1 RZ1, 2 RZ16s, and an RZ20, plus I think I might be able to find 2-3 more authentic bodies to fill in pictures with chutes). As stated by others, this has been a difficult project, as I've had to try to work very carefully, as I've had to not only combat the fat reenactors here in the US, but the "Hong Kong Farbschirmjägers".

There is no point in spending this much time and money when the end result is to have it ruined by someone who is wearing a gruenmeliert snap in smock and doesn't care (apparently someone made these) or whom need to do a RIGHT side exit. The guys I use in the photos might be slightly overweight, but it is very minimal if at all...and are willing to accept constructive criticism on improving their impressions...and 10./FJR 1 works closely with other top notch FJ units like Calder's units that are simply too far away, so while I'm new to them, its always good to be a part of a group that cares about the authenticity and has the parachutes as well. (Never understood the point of being part of an airborne unit that doesn't have a single parachute....)

So if you guys come out to the midwest...give me a months notice or two, and I'll see if I can't get the CAF to give us access to the airport and let us push the JU-52 back onto the grass and take pictures galore that day. The rides they aren't able to do unless everyone is a member of the CAF due to Federal Aviation Administration requirements...but the photos I think I could definitely make happen and give us all kinds of time.

Attached is a sample photo we got to turn out at a small airshow in the Quad Cities (Davenport, IA). So...keep that in mind, and hopefully at some point this could work out, because I am sure it would be a lot of fun, and my wife is an incredible photographer, so I'm sure we could get at least a couple of photographs that would be able to be placed in a wallet or a photo album for your friends.

hi Jon, thank you for your invitation, but as we (I/Fjr2) are 'over the pond' it would make thing a bit expensive with travel! We appreciate your comments and to be fair you are right all we need is that elusive JU52 to finish our display. there is one in the UK at the Duxford air museum, we have approached the museum with regard to access to the plane but they point blankly refused! We have Fj reenactor contacts in Holland where there is another Ju52 available to use and the museum people seem very freindly. Memebers of the group will be attending an event in October here in the UK where an copy of a DFS230 glider has been made so we look forward to getting some pictures taken with this. Thank you all for you comments and i will post some more pictures shortly. Here's a few to give you a taster!

                          Fj instructor!

Paul, I was more thinking if you guys were ever in the area as far as stateside events. Also, if any of you guys are 5'10" and 180-200 I could outfit you guys and get you those elusive shots. I have more than enough to provide you.

I know what you mean. I approached RAF Duxford about utilizing their HE-111 interior for photography and received absolutely no response whatsoever. I do understand the stigma that goes with the uniform, however, I do not see how erasure of history will benefit the public.

Man...those are incredible shots there. My wife and I are planning on the possibility of a trip to the UK/Europe in the future to possibly get some photographs there, and may try to coincide that with other FJ reenactors who are interested.

Guys, as much as I enjoy threads like this and the re-enacting scene, threads like this should be in the Living History section. After this one started, we allowed it to remain here, thinking it would not be an endless thread.

I would gladly copy/move it there if you want to continue. Please let me know.

I had actually planned to continue it in PM (have been unable to type it all out due to ambulance pager and work schedule)...should others wish to continue or move...that is up to you guys on forum staff, as it is after all your forum. I did recollect that reenacting was not viewed too fondly on discussion in this section, and the last post was to be the last in the thread from me publicly on that matter.
                                Jon

-Edit: I guess I should elaborate some...as I don't mean "not too fondly" as some are tolerant, but reenacting in this section should be compared to with alcohol...it is tolerable in moderation, but in excess it leads to headaches, nausea, and irritability among some. Jon
