      Jean-Loup,
Once again another great story which I never tire of. One tiny piece of the war that no one ever heard of but had a big impact to the people that died, their families, and the individuals that were there . As was said in another thread, these stories are far more interesting than all the books about major events in the war, this is down to the people that are right there, that some live and some die, and how after all these years there stories are brought back to life by you and the others who have added to this story. to all of you.
P.S. Hope you keep finding these stories and share them.
      Bill

          Very Interesting Stroy

Thanks for sharing that with us Jean-Loup! It is sometimes the 'little' stories behind the big one that I find so interesting.

I think you have a natural talent for this and you should consider making "After The Battle" Magazine aware of this. I think that magazine would benefit from some 'fresh' after the battle ideas after being one of my favourite magazines since first coming out in 1971.

As a foot note, Ken Joyce and his publisher Clive Law are in the final stages of completing the 1st Special Service Force companion volume (2) To "Snowplough and the Jupitor Deception", for release in early 2008. I'm sure you will find this book very useful as THE scholarly reference book on the badges, uniforms and equipment of the Force...

Maybe you should consider a Monte la Difensa battlefield investigation in the future??

          Regards,

          Konrad
