Wish I could help you, pzrwest, but those are the only pictures I took at the U-Boot memorial because my camera batteries died on me. I wanted to take more pictures, including some of the plaques but, alas, this will have to wait until I can get there again some day.

Very nice pictures from the Marine Ehrenmal.
I visited Laboe in 1994 and would love to go back one day. Did you know that U-995 was used in the Norwegian navy after the war as a school boat and sold back to Germany for 1.DM later.Comment

I was last year in Laboe. It was told, that no man of the crew was killed and many of them are still alive. One or two times a year they met at their old ship.Comment

The image is not that great, but Google Earth gives you a good view of the area around the U-995.

Thanks for the pics John great tour of the area, brings back memories I was there in 2004 well worth the ferry trip from Kiel.
