No, cause there is bridges to cross to the island of Bokn. The main problem is to know where on these old roads to drive to find the fort. You can drive up to the fort itself

                      Hi Julius.

I quitted in 2003/2004 when I became a member of the border in N.O.R.F. (Norwegian recerve officers union). N.R.O.F. takes a lot of my time.
The national guard youth had a lot of restriction regarding shooting/combat/reconning during 2000 so it became a bit boring.
But that said the almost 10yrs. spended as an instructor was a very good and learning time! I still support national guard youth when necesary...

Any comments of the festung Bokn?

                            Jotuntroll,
I enjoyed your pictures greatly. It would be great if you could find some period pictures of the fort in use. Thanks again.

I do not know where to look for pics of the fort in use. Many big forts have no pictures of it during ww2. They are gone with the soldiers stationed there. Some are official but they are few and far between.
