                  Thanks Richard. Seeing these pics was very enjoyable. Somewhere I would like to visit. The restoration work makes the castle look very different from the drab run down place that it appeared to be during the war.

                              That's all the pics which I will post here. Worth a visit but not what I had expected. A nicely renovated castle and beautiful town to boot however, after being lucky enough to visit the site of Stalag Luft III at Sagen a few days previous I am afraid Colditz came second out of the 2. Still, I hope the photos were of some use.

                                Here in Germany the history of Castle Colditz isnt very popular.
                                I live very close to the castle and i have never heard this story before.
