Let's take the train to the artillery bloc 4. It's a 10 minutes
drive to get there.
During this drive you can see the place where the dead french
soldier was buried (he was buried in the railway tunnel's wall).
He died as german soldiers attaced the personnel entrance with
an anti tank gun.
Bloc 4 is an artillery block with three Model 32 artillery canon
covering the eastern flanc towards the Fort de Latiremont.
It is a second generation bloc, meaning the ammunition was brought
to the guns by elevators, compared to first generation blocs where
the arsenal was located next to the Bloc on the same level.
On June 17, this Bloc was attacked with two 88 mm guns half a day.
The external protection of the Bloc couldnt resist but protected
by the night, the occupants could repair the infrastructure.
