At the access road to the Fort de Fermont, is located the Memorial
raised to the memory of the Fortress Troops "surrended to the enemy
without being defeated" to remind to everybody that the Ligne Maginot
was always fighting at the armistice of June 1940.
The visit starts at the ammunition entrance. The ammunition train
elevator brings you underground and you walk through a museum showing
dioramas of french and german soldiers, especially the reconstitution
of several scenes of the garrison's life in 1940.
Underground can be found the kitchen, power station command post,
postal office, medical station etc.
A impressive 1 kilometer trip in a small train will drive you
right below the block 4 which is an artillery block that will be
visit before going outside.
