were there any japanese soldiers who were christians. How were they treated by their superiors?

I have read that about 3% of the Japanese population is Christian, mostly Catholic. The great majority are Buddhist-Shinto.
I know a few Japanese Christians, and with the exception of one or two who are sorta fundamentalist, they aren't much different than the majority of Japanese, who tend not to take religion very seriously compared to other cultures.

I remember reading years ago about Mitsuo Fuchida (sp?), he was apparently the lead pilot at Pearl Harbor, he converted to Christianity after the war, when asked how he could be a Christian (since there were no churches), he replied that he had joined Christ, not a church. I have a good friend who is Japanese and a Christian. Even though the bible conveys to believers that they shouldn't be "unequally yoked", he had no problem marrying a buddhist. Chris....
