last year i took my girlfried away for a romantic long weekend to krakow, well that was the plan , i then ended up on a day out to auschwitz ,well it didnt go down too well i can tell you but i thought well if you are there its somewhere that you have to see, well the weekend started of like this in pic 1

auschwitz 1 apparently on these scaffolds some times the ss hung 6 at a time at roll call

this was inside the deathblock the side on left was mengeles block and the windows were boarded so the other inmates couldnt see the executions 3,000 were shot in this small space after ss summary courts

in this space a prisoner had to stand 24 hours a day if he sat he was beat or shot

these are the gallows that were built for rudolf hoess the commandant after his trial he was brought here and hung

this was the gas chamber at auschwitz 1 and crematoria ,it was closed after birkenau was opened

a lot of the huts are no longer there but there are still a few left,the conditions in these were awful

the prisoners were told to use these toilets all at once at a time given by the ss if you wanted to go or not, punishment beatings were given out if you went at any other time

i could not believe the size of birkenau camp it was huge
