Last weekend my wife and I took a break for the cold Chicago weather and took in the recently completed U-505 exhibit.
I must say the Museum of Science and Industry did a remarkable job of restoring the sub, the exhibits are well done and informative and they gave a well balanced approach to both sides of the respective navies, German and American.
According to the guides the unveiiling which took place last June brought vets from both sides, survivors from the U-505 and American vets from the Hunter Killer group which took part in its capture.
If you are in Chicago this is a must stop, very well done.
