It's a touchy subject, but would be interesting to see if he has anything to say.You never know,he might be willing to talk if it was stated that it was from a historical view from people that are interested in history. It's not pretty history, but history none the less.Regards,Darrick

I seem to remember seeing him on a UK TV programme a couple of months ago, when somebody had brought a group of high ranking nazi's offspring together in a room, with some sons & daughters of Holocaust victims...It wasn't exactly the most interesting programme that I had ever seen.

Wasn't there also a Klaus Heydrich?

Hey Chap, back in the States?

No I am still "over there".

I've been wondering how strange it would be to pop in on someone like him. I can only imagine how the conversation would go,

          Hi, are you Heydrichs son?
          Yes.
          What do you remember most?
Not much, he wasn't around but when he was we played.
Did you talk about the war?
Not too much. Mostly he wanted me to do well in school.
Do you have anything that was his (the sick person that he was)

What is the point of talking to him. If he wanted to talk about it he would have written a book.

I'd let this sleeping dog lie. It would be different to write to a living ace to ask about his plane and dog fights, but this would be pushing the envolope too far.

go with what your instincts tell you. if you have to ask for permission or opinions from guys on this site, how much of a student of military history are you? I am sure this guy loved his son like any other father. not sure what else you would want to know about the family life. you probably know more about his history than the son.

I believe some very good points have been brought up......For starters, Heydrich's son doesn't owe the world any sort of insight into his personal psyche.....As was already stated, if he so desired would have already wrote his memoirs.....He isn't responsible for what his father did, so why would he want to discus something that has to be very hard for himself to believe (and somehow accept)?......More than likely, as a youth saw his father as no different than any other father....So why rehash things about the past?.......In all likelihood would only increase the possibility of somebody doing him or his family harm......As was previously stated.....Let sleeping dogs lie.....Bodes

I agree. (My 2 cents worth.)

                      Documentery.

I recall seeing part of that documentery.
It would depend on how you look at it.
It can't be denied that the actions of the father's have had an impression on their children.
This is sad initself as some of those who had parrents and grandparrents hurt seemed to think that they would be meeting people who perhaps in some way represented the fathers.

From a psychological aspect I found it interesting.

Can somebody translate what site this is from and what kind of work he does?

                        For my two cents...

I think it is enough to show interest from a far i.e. finding his name on the website, but do not make it personal by contacting him. I am sure that over the last 50 years people have asked him a million questions about his father.
How would you like to hear from some yahoo in the twilight of your life "So tell me what you think of your father killing millions of Jews? And have a great day."
Reply: "Oh yeah haven't heard that question in the last two weeks, thanks for reminding me!!!."

                        But thats just me...

Not sure if it's still relevant, since there are conflicting posts about wether Haider Heydrich is still alive..

But here it goes anyway :
After graduation from the polytechnical University in Hamburg with a degree in aeronautical engineering, I got a job with the Dornier Reparaturwerft in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich.
This was in the early 80's , at the time, Mr. Heydrich was the CEO of the company.
This just as background info :
The project I worked was a general aviation maintenace center in Caracas, Venezuela, a joint venture between the Dornier Reparaturwerft and a venezuelan partner.

This was Mr. Heydrich's pet project, and so I got to sit in on many meetings where he was present.
He was a very professional guy, straight to the point business wise, but still a very nice person doing so. Our project leader was a friend of his, and often times, when it got late at the office, we decided to finish with some relaxation and some beers at his house, and quite a few times, Mr. Heydrich was also present.
As already said, he was a very nice guy, fun to hang out with, and had some good stories to tell about his early years in business.
However, he was very private about his family, and the war years, for obvious reasons.
And I, being the just graduated newbie, wasn't about to approach the CEO of the company with something like this....
The only mention he ever made about his father, although indirectly, was when he told us, that when he was job hunting after his graduation from University, many interviews came to an abrupt end, when the interviewer realized that this was the son of the infamous Reinhard Heydrich.

So, I doubt that you would get an answer from him, if you contacted him with questions about his father.

I kind of doubt he would be able to tell much anyway, being so young at the time

Exactly, what could he tell you that researched books can't?
If I had strangers coming to ask questions about my dad and didn't want to talk to them I can seeing myself telling them to f%# off
