        well.

His father is part of History and i would like to know how is the regard of his son and if the conception of his life after the war has been changed.
Maybe the good thing is to do nothing and may his son live in peace.

I have a book called "My father's keeper" which is a series of interviews with children of "famous" Nazis (Bormann, Hess, etc..). It is very interesting to see how these children have coped (or not as the case may be) with their famous past. Reading about Heydrich's son in such a context may be of interest. The problem is that one person contacting this chap, simply to ask akward questions, may seem to be just pure voyeurism. I do not know the answer to your question but it sure would be interesting to find out what this man did with his life....

Out of curiosity, is his last name "Heydrich" or did he change it?

Individuals react differently to questions about their past. He may in fact enjoy talking about his father, or he may simply ignore you. I seriously doubt you will be the first to ask questions.

              The decision is yours.

Here is what I think is the best approach in getting an answer about his willingness to talk. Compose a very well written letter, clearly outlining who you are, your reasons for wanting to speak to him, and what you plan to do with any information obtained from him. List your telephone number, and politely request that he call or write you if he is willing to talk about his father, and leave it at that. Clearly state in the letter that you will not continue to attempt to solicit information from him in the future if you hear nothing from him, and that you respect his privacy. If he calls or writes, you have the green light, if he doesn't, then he obviously does not want to discuss his father-and at that point, it should be a dead issue.

                  Steven,

That's PERFECT!! That's exactly the way I began a great friendship with a veteran of the 5th PZ Rgt and RK winner. It took him a while to write back, but when I finally received a reply, it was great. Our communications continued until his death.

                    Hi,

I agree with you Panzerman but the difference is we all know what was the past and the actions of his father.
You didn't know very much more about your german veteran before your request. It was simpliest.

Heider Heydrich don't hide himself, he's a public person in his place and you can find him very very easy in all goods phone directories, find his picture (with is father and today) too.
I can write the right words but it seems embarrassing. I'll try to write a good letter and feel the moment to send it.

I think it is a bad idea to contact this person. He had no choice in being born from Heydrich, unlike a war veteran. What do you expect this man to say? "My father was great, or my father was horrible" I'm sure you are right about him getting asked all the time, but that does not mean you should ask. best wishes,
                        jeff

I think it could be a good idea if you do it right. I remember I read a book about nazi leader's childern. It was really interesting to see how they react with their family's history.

LEAVE HIM ALONE, if he wanted to talk about his father he would have done so already.

Heydrich's kid ran a gay bar in Munchen.
I believe one of Borman's kids married a jewish girl.
Read Born Guilty:Children of Nazi Families by Peter Sichrovsky.

Many of the children went just the opposite of their parents beliefs.
For those who lived and were not caught, it was common for these people to still need to have power over people and when they couldn't take it out on the Russians and the Jews, they took it out on their kids.
