Uwe, yes, I have an M44 feldbluse from Keith and with a bit of modification ie. better buttons and a rinse of cold tea to "un-whiten" the lining cotton drill, the tunic is top notch. The wool is a good representation of late war stuff. Just add decent insignia and its good to go. Here is Keiths website, more to choose from.

    http://www.ww2militaria-kcs.com/

I have seen his panzer uniforms and handled them, they are too thin in the wool department. The wrap does not "sit" right because of this. It looks like a HBT wrap, all loose and baggy. I guess it would be OK for Australia's hot summer reenactments, but thats why the clever Germans produced a HBT Panzer set !!!

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to buying repro's. People talk about the cut and detail points on repro's, but if the wool ain't right to start with, then even from a distance before you can even see the darts or sleeve pre-curve, it will not look right. The Janke panzer trousers I have, have already fooled a few collectors and I happened to pick them up cheap because of this. The wool LOOKS like old school milled stuff.
Here they are in all their glory. For obvious reasons, I won't say what differentiates them from originals. I will post them for reference viewing only.

I don't know if they have what you are looking for in stock at this time, but I've always been happy with AT THE FRONT. They are out of Kentucky, USA. You can find them through their website. Along with Bill Bureau, I think they're the best.

                Hello

I was looking at the M42 SS Tunic Richard Underwood has on his site and it looks pretty good. Does anyone know who makes it? Anybody have experience with his tunics?

                Thanks, fischer

I'm too sexy for this uniform.

On the subject of reenactment feldgrau tunics I feel I can speak with some knowledge. When I started reenacting in the late 1980's, New Columbia was what every best dressed German would want, but silly me I wore an original. In the mid 1990's I bought a Jahnke tunic from RZM Imports to save the original. It was great and it was the closest thing to an original you could get.

Two years ago I went to FIG to find an new uniform to replace my worn out Jahnke. I found Bill Bureau's table and looked at the new Jahnke's with great horror. They were junk. I eventually discovered Lost Battalion. They blow old Jahnkes away in all the details. Top pocket slant, internal straps, stiching, color, everything. The only thing Ed (LB's owner) should change is his M-36 collars are too limp and need more stiffening. Also the LB tunic buttons require repainting.

I found Sturm to be statisfactory, but their trouser buttons need work. ATF only sell Sturm now. The Sturm Mantel is nice and the price is good. The LB mantel is a little pricy at $400.oo.

Hong Kong Keith is junk and unless you are over 6 feet tall the proportions are way off. Also, H.H. Keith uses white thread on his HBT's! Christ, where does he get that from? My unit is forbidden from buying anything from H.H. Keith. Panzerfaust makes a good HBT's for the money.

However, I have discovered a new source for premium feldgrau uniforms, On-the-March. I am awaiting the arrival of my order. They are all made individually so they there is a long wait. However product on the the websight looks great! Check it out for yourself at http://www.on-the-march.com/index.html But Virginia is an army of one so use her if you arn't in a hurry. Otherwise, go to LB for your first uniform.

I have not seen a 1944 uniform, how are they?

G-Max makes good 43/44 marsh pattern smocks, but their feldgrau is not so good. The weave is too loose.

For camo, go to Zeugwart in Germany http://www.zeugwart.com/ I bought a '31 splinter smock from them that is too die for. The color is dead on to a minty Zelt I have. Their SS camo looks every bit as good.

Well that's my 25 cents worth. My skin is thick, any comments?

I presume you mean what I ordered from On the March. From her I ordered an Officer's conversion, an M-36 with steingrau trousers, and an HBT set. All but the Steingrau trousers have been shipped out. She is waiting on a shipment of gray wool to finish the order.

I am but a cave man, so I will need to get a digital camera so I can start posting pix on this message board. Any suggestions on the cameras? Then I can post the pix of my new uniforms and a critique.

I will make my posting after the holiday.

                            My ship came in!

I got two things today, my uniforms from On the march and a digital camera. Let us just say that the uniforms hold up to the pictures on the web site, they are fabulous Darlink! They are worth the wait, like a helmet from Eric Grigsby. It takes a while, but you will love it when you get it.

I also bought a digital camera. So now I can start posting some pix of my uniforms after the holiday. I am but a caveman, so I will need some technical advice on this part, to attach photos.
