And finally for today, back where we started with a red full dress tunic for a Colour Sgt. in the Notts and Derby Regiment. This is the last version of the full dress uniform introduced just prior to WW1, with solid colour shoulder straps.

And a close up of the bullion insignia (right sleeve only) and original Boer war medal bar. This man had obviously been around for a while!

I like it A LOT! Great combination of ww1 and ww1 sets and tunics. Especially because they are very difficult to find. Please show us more.

Thank you all for the positive comments. Much appreciated.

Here is the uniform of a named officer in the West Somerset Yeomanry. I purchased this here on the WAF over a year ago and really like the history behind this unusual unit. The officer transferred as a 2nd Lt. from the Somerset Light Infantry then served in the Middle East as part of this yeomanry unit. He appears to have arrived after the WSY returned from Gallipoli and served 3 years, being twice wounded.

The 1st Btn of the WSY were converted into dismounted infantry early in 1917, becoming the 12th Btn SLI instead. They were shipped over to France in May 1918. As well as being named and dated inside, the jacket still has the 3 blue service chevrons and 2 metal wound stripes on the left sleeve.

Close up shots of the collar badges and regimental buttons. I would love to be able to find an officer's version of the WSY cap badge but they are incredibly rare.

And last one today - a nice Waffenrock conversion for an Oberfeldwebel in the artillery. I know this is not to everyone's taste, but I happen to like the mismatched pockets and cuffs and the signs of wear around the collar. The owner also chose an unconventional way of attaching his two ribbons at the front.
