Thanks for all the nice comments guys! I really appreciate them.
@Jaime: Meeting Otto Kumm twice at his home was something very distinct from collecting and a very lasting experience.
@Weisner: Right, very similar to the KvK, but much nicer though. These Bulgarian and Romanian medals are very well made. I appreciate the workmanship. With regards to the other 76 recipients. Tough stuff, but it would be nice to at least ID the all recipients of the LAH. Let's see how far I will get.
With regards to the Wisch biography I was fortunate to receive another very last minute contribution from a RKT just before New Year. Even though I thought it would be too late to include in the book, Schiffer confirmed to me yday that it was still included and will therefore be shared with all the readers still!
Last, not least, I don't think there will be a lot of additions to the collection this year. I have lots of work and other ambitious plans in other fields and as such feel that my cycle in the hobby is heading to an end anyway.
Funnily I will shoot a photo of me, my wife and son to the International Space Station in March on board a Soyuz rocket. There the current Expedition crew will sign, stamp and take a photo of it floating around in the station. It will return to earth (hopefully) during the Fall of this year with the Personal Preference Kit (PPK) of the cosmonaut and delivered back to our home. But that belongs more to my other passion, collecting flown space memorabilia...
Cheers!

Everyone,
Schiffer Books sent me the layout for a final review today,
so it can go to the printer asap.
What can I say: The design surpassed my imagination and
Is better than what I had hoped for! Just great!
Footnotes will be on each page where they are mentioned,
just like many reader had asked me for and which in return
I had asked Schiffer to respect.
Just thought I'd share...
Markus
Ps: The family photo I mentioned in the previous post will be
launched on March 30th from Baikonur Spaceport on board
Soyuz TMA-04M. This for the members who had asked me
in past days. (I probably should sent a manuscript of the Wisch
bio up there for the guys in the ISS to read!

Marcus,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share all your years of work and your collection with forum members. You are a true inspiration to the preservation and reserch of the history of the LAH. I have pre orderd your book and cannot wait to read it.
Keep up the good work and thanks again.

Thank you everyone for their kind words.
The book is out to the printers since last Wednesday and Schiffer have already asked me for the next one...! All I'd need now is time....
Collection-wise I'll definitely be a lot less active this year. There is honestly not so much more stuff that really, really interests me lately to invest major money in. Everything seems the same.
I will definitely still work on putting a decent camo fighter mannequin together this year, so if you have a smock or autumn/winter parka to spare offers will be welcome...
Cheers,
Markus

LSSAH - Italy 1943
I just stumbled over these large format KB photos from the Wisch estate and thought I'd share.
The second photo is inscribed: "Brenner 3.8.43"
Can anyone comment on the uniforms and respective units of the Italians shown? Moreover what island palace is pictured in the third and last picture?
Thanks!
Markus
