Gotta warn ya though, my cameral is on a 3 mega pixel and I usually use my scanner for such work. I'll figure it out though. I'm at work right now and will do it when I get home. Any concearns or just curiosity?

Peter, give me a day or so, this camera isn't going to cut it. I will borrow my fathers 5 megapixel and try from there. All I am getting is blurred images with my 3 mega pixel. What are you looking for specifically?

There must be more. Out of the 51 in Blitz's Iron cross statistics, only 6 are early?

Perhaps there are not as many early 57 RK's as one may think.

Other than a few veterans, who would have wanted one of these
back in the 50's or 60's? I can understand the demand for them
in modern times. Hence the production of the later types.

Yes Ken, that is what I have been thinking too. And if you look at the pictures of veterans wearing 1957 rk, most are with a late version, or at least the ones I saw.

So there are only 4 of us with early 1957 rks in this forum?

I've been looking for another early RK for quite some time now. But like
a lot of other fellas, have come up empty handed. Now I'm just
looking for a decent modern one. I just don't trust buying one from
off the internet. Some look to be real junkie!!! Those "staybright types.

Yes the kvk rk is part of my collection. It is rather hard to get hold of an early rk. But don't give up.
