A Varied Collection From Norway

Originally posted by Acez84 View PostHere are some strange camouflage clothes made from oil cloth. It found in an attic here in Norway. In addition to the long coat displayed below, there are trousers and a smaller jacket made from the same material. The hood and brodie-helmet cover was bought from International Military Antiques who claim it was produced in Canada. I have never seen this in any collection or on the web except on IMA.
Info from IMA: Actually made in Canada during WW2, these Tommy Helmet covers are marked with Maker's name and date. Each is manufactured from, what would almost appear to be Oil Cloth, these are "elastic" edged helmet covers with Havelocks (Neck Guards).
These are exceptionally rare and VERY FRAGILE after 65+ years of storage, as most were un-issued and are being unfolded by IMA for the very first time. Each Cover must be soaked in very warm water (below boiling) to soften to hardened finish prior to helmet installation. Water repellant so these were a welcome accessory in bad weather, sadly very few survived the war. IMA inspects every cover prior to shipment and will not knowingly ship and damaged cover, however, some very minor tears may still be present as they can be hard to detect.
The markings on the clothes and headgear is the same. Buttons are marked Newey. The yellow markings inside the clothes all have the year: 1942/1943. Additional markings are three stars *** and Aristo.
Appreciate additional info on these. Are they listed in any known books?

Could be, but they have air vents under the arms. Would think that if it was made to hold gas out that it would be as air proof as possible. There is no strap on the waist to close off any space between over and under part. I will get some photos of similar gear I have lying around. I have at least one smaller jacket in the same material and some pants.
Thanks for the response by the way

Managed to get hold of a german production Kongsberg colt holster for my 1945 Colt with WaA stamp. I also have a 1942 kongsberg colt in the collection but since the germans did not manage to stamp the production due to the hardness of the steel, it has no wAa.
Hope you like it!Attached Files
