Hi Irv, it makes a nice space filler. I did notice there was a difference to the shape of the pommel and maybe the chequering was not a nice as the others. I don't think I will ever be able to afford one of the these either

I was very happy to get my first pattern direct from the Vet. I have featured it on the forum in the past.

    Cheers, Ade.

      Hi Ade,

I'd like to see it if you can send the thread. Which type of blade does your first pattern have?

Hi Irv, I had to dig around to find the old thread. I will have it moved to the brit forum as that is where it belongs

Here is an extra pic or two of the blade markings.

        Cheers, Ade.

Absolutely spot on Ade!! Looks like a great knife. The Newey press stud is something that gets overlooked sometimes! Same maker that did the studs for the Para smocks. A knife that a lot of collectors would kill for. Great to have the history with it as well.

                                Hi James,

Couple of nice knives there!! What is the length of the blade on the 1st pattern?? It looks like the very slender, stiletto type blade? Almost looks like someone has ground the hell out of the blade but it was done at factory!
Thanks for the shots of the clamp marks. I don't know how people can say that one maker made an unmarked knife from the clamp marks. I have two 1st patterns and they differ from the one you show! Lots of guys making knives, all with different clamps at their works stations.
