Hi Guys,
Thanks for the appreciation. I have a heap of cool stuff now and really need to get into it as
I reckon I can do some killer grouping pics. Something for this thread in the future.
It's definitely a great milestone achieving the U boot tallies. Any further tallies which are super
Rare will be a bonus!
Cheers,
JustinC

Yeah... Well haven't looked closely but now you mention it have never seen one. The Torpedofangboot is a super rare one too.
Oh well the search continues!
Best

Interesting info on the HMAS Tally guys,
This might be of some interest mate, from the book "Kit Muster" Uniforms, Badges and categories of the Australian Navy 1865-1953. (Chapter 6) by John Perryman.
"At the beginning of hostilities, men dressed as seamen serving in commissioned vessels wore cap ribbons lettered H.M.A.S. followed by the name of their ship.
In October 1942 that changed when, as a wartime security measure, sailors were instructed to wear cap ribbons lettered only H.M.A.S.
The order did not immediately extend to personnel serving in shore depots who continued to wear the name of their parent establishment until June 1943.
The order was rescinded in September 1946 following the cessation of hostilities."
Cheers to Bob Lyons for the info!
