Great collection Dave. I love how youve displayed everything. I fully agree with the location of the Red white n blue. Very fitting indeed placing it above all else. To say it doesnt have a place there is not correct in my opinion. It simply shows two very important countries' national symbols that were involved in the greatest conflict ever. anyway, a kick ass collection

Wow that is a beautiful collection of USAAF, now I understand why you wanted to stay focused.

A fellow member mentioned that I should put a colored background behind the medals to make them "pop" out. I wasn't sure if I wanted red to match the flag or go with a grey color to make it seem like the medals were on a uniform. Well, I went with Red for the German items and it looks great in my opinion. What do you guys think?

Also there are new items in the colection that weren't in the last grouping of pictures.

Here's my aviation wings. I used black to make them pop out as well. I figured black would be best to bring out the silver in the wings.
I used Grey for the patches just because I figured it would be a good color to use for those.

i like the collection and how you have displayed it in the case. i guess it's personal preference to how things are displayed - they are your items after all - in war there are heroes no matter what cause they fight for, what is interesting to me is owning a piece of history. it's great that you have a personal connection with some of the stuff you have and display, too.

                  merry christmas!

                      Great display

As for the backgrounds in my mind there isnt any doubt; black backgrounds is definately enhancing metal object the best and for the absolute best use black satin.

But its all a matter of tast may it be bad or good

Thank you all for the great compliments. Berra, I may have to try the black satin on the next display. My collection is growing a bit faster than I thought it would, but I'm pleased with it. Thanks again guys!
