Great idea Rose to build a collection of patches and medals around soldbuch's !! I also like the way you display the EKs ribbons-they look like they are attached on a tunic!
Beautifully displayed very tastefull with the ribbons and the soldbuch's I love it!!!..
I think it is very nice to complete a set like that and I know how hard it can be sometimes to find all the right pieces...
Keep up the good work..
Just a small word of caution, exposure to light will eventually fade your displayed soldbuchs. Jacques
I keep my display in a room with 1 window, and I keep the curtain always closed. So they're not exposed to any direct sunlight, or hardly any light.
I have thought about the photo copy idea and considered it.. I haven't tried it to see how it would look yet. But i will check this avenue out, and see how I like it.

Hartigan/ ww2coll - The EK tunic ribbon is what i was going for
I like the idea of bringing back an individual's awards with the Soldbuch. That's an original idea; I don't think i've seen it done like that before, and I like it.
And, I'm a big fan of framing and displaying awards on one's wall! (as you can see below). I'm just showing an example so no comments, please, on my stuff; focus on Militarymedics fine work.
Whoever said those discouraging things about your first attempt needs a good swat upside their head; that's no way to deal with a fellow collector.
Rose,
You could always scan the soldbuch ID photos and have them professionally blown up in size on glossy photographic paper and put next to the soldbuch. I do this with many of my original photos and they actually display better in shadow boxes at larger sizes. I must say that I do like the EKII ribbons tucked into the soldbuchs so perhaps scrap my suggestion
You have some very nice displays overthere, well done !!!
No mather how small a collection is,it's the quality and the way the collection is displayed what realy counts !
I have seen collections with piled-up uniforms, equipment and headgear covered with dust in a small room...the first reactions were "wow...soooo much" and "i would like to have that much militaria in my room"
It's better to have a focused and well-displayed collection than a pile of militaria without realy knowing what you have...
