My collection :)

Hey Guys,

Well I finally got the nerve to show my collection, the last time I tried I was discouraged by negative comments about my display.

But it's my collection, so here it is (everything is cared for properly I assure you) I cant wait to make it larger...

While it's small, it's been quite expensive and still is missing 3 medals, 2 ribbon bars, and the cloth items for the other 3 fellows... anyhow

I'm extremely proud of it and look at it daily.

JOH- I put the ribbons in there thinking that they would look nice/add to the display's overall feel. I love how they look as well.


(the ribbons arent actually attached to the bucher just held in place by the archive sleeve)

Very nice display, Rose. Do all the soldbuchs have corresponding entries for the medals, badges and insignia? For me, displays like this bring the soldier to life, so to speak.

Very nice displays. I never thought about making a grouping around a soldbuch. It's a nice way to go about collecting.

Raymond - all the medals and cloth correspond to what's in the soldbuch. I'm still missing some medals and cloth that I need to purchase to make them complete.

The two smaller framed ones are done medal wise, but not cloth

The rumanian medal with caucaz bar was harder than heck to find.

Nice way to focus a collection. The most important thing about any collection is that you display it in a way that brings joy to you. You have done that and that is all that matters. Just a small word of caution, exposure to light will eventually fade your displayed soldbuchs. Have you thought of framing a copy of the page you want to display and file away the original. That is what I do with all my paperwork. Jacques

That's a great idea Jacques - never thought about that. And a quality print will look almost exactly the same.

Rose - Great display! Glad you didn't get too discouraged. I also take very opportunity to look at my display. It starts while I'm brushing my teeth in the morning!

That's great, I've tried this in the past but have also found it hard to find everything to complete a grouping. Sometimes it's the common items that are missing .
