My small 2009 Market Garden exhibition

I had a small exhibition during the commemorations of Operation Market Garden. Unfortunately we had, yet again, only two days to set it all up for only a four day period display. Good things is that we had quite a few US and British veterans as well as many locals visiting. The display was set up in a former 82nd HQ building called "t Zwaantje between Groesbeek and Mook.

The handcart is one of the same batch as the one used in the WWII background picture. They were used when the Maas-Waal Canal was dug by hand. The Germans used these handcarts during the fighting. This one was left in the village.

Since there were also classes with school children coming we thought it would be a good idea to display the individual soldier so that they could see them in close-up.
