My new framed U-boat badge display and other things

Vic is hands-down the best framer I have ever run across--his attention to detail and perpective is unmatched. He also has a type of glass that catches no glare and appears invisible (I am not exaggerating). If you are in the Phoenix area, and need something framed (whether military or not) he is the go to guy.

I have a question about the General Querner grouping. Are you concerned about any long term effects the tanins in the oak framing may have on the paper items mounted within?

Just curious.

Hi Tony,
No worry at all. The documents are housed in archival envelopes and are air tight. Of course they could be removed from these envelopes if the frame was taken apart. The oak is frame is really not oak at all it is part wood and part silicon (hence the oak border). The frame looks like it is 100% oak. The frame is designed not to give off gasses. That frame is almost 7 years old and no changes to anything. Plus all my frames are displayed in rooms that remain dark 90% of the time.

Victor only uses archival materail in everthing he does for me.

Jody, having just seen the frames on the walls, I can say the pictures here just dont do them justice. In real life, they are all stunning. I think too many collectors overlook the importance of effective display of their artifacts-you and Victor provide the pinnacle of beautiful displays while maintaining the preserverance of the rare and valued items. Thanks, I am lucky I have plenty of wall space. Plus I still have not shown you folks at least 6 more frames that I have (rare autographs).

You will have to see the Imperial German frame I will be doing.
