Very neat Reichsbahn transport Kolonne in Heer service!
Notice the "Deutche Reichsbahn" stencil on the trucks in post 34 and 74
+ "WH" stencil in the latter!

Does anybody have an example of this type of uniform? These would be a great thing to hold on to.

Yah I would love to find a tunic like this to buy.

This picture was taken in Russia. I talked to me Opa last night and he told me that this picture was taken right after his fathers convoy was bombed by Russian bombers. The pressure from the bombs where so great that it pushed the truck into the ditch. Also the truck was full of ammunition.

post 62 is very cool. That is the reichstag in the background right? Its so strange to see the front of the pic where everything looks so nice the you see that in the back.

And the pic on the page before, I think, where the guy is standing in front of the burning building is also really neat. Looks like it could have been a painting.

Im glad your proud of your great grandpa. Its sad how so many people devoted years of their life to their country only to be ridiculed for decades as being a "nazi".

Yes, that's the Reichstag! And the memorial is the Soviet War Memorial in Tiergarten. Curiously enough, it is in the allied side of Berlin and was being guarded by Soviet soldiers up to the end of the Cold War.

                            Cheers, Giorgos

My Dad was born in Germany and when he moved here to Canada people use to call him a "dirty Nazi". He didn't even knew what it meant.

Yea I'm very proud of my Ure Gross Vater. He was a very nice and gentle man. He had a few close calls during the war and had some interesting experience. My Opa always tells me stories from his fathers journeys all over Europe during the war (Mainly Russia). Every time I talk to him he always tell me a new story I never heard before. It’s really awesome. Then also to hear my Opa’s own experiences being a child during the war are interesting.
