boyouLaGleize,
The farm dad and some of his buddies were billeted at was in Spa. I have heard dad mention Trois-Ponts so I know he was there. Dad told me he would have the folks back here in the States send him popcorn and when the mail/packages would get delivered it was always a good time. The Dairy farm was owned by the Masson family. I have attached a picture of the farm, some snapshots, and the business card of Mr. Masson. Dad also told me that when his outfit was finally pulled out of the area, the young Masson son went with them to be dropped off at one of the larger cities (Brussels maybe?). The son had to do a stint in some kind of civilian force that helped direct traffic.
I can't tell you much more than this but I sure would like to know if there are any surviving family members. The older Masson parents would be long since deceased but there might be children in the area. If there is any way you could check this out for me I would be greatly indebted to you. Wouldn't it be something if you could find someone in the family that remembered the American visitors and I could put my dad in touch with them? What a longshot that would be. I'll ask dad about the other towns you mentioned.
Let me know if you can run anything down on the Masson family,
Greg
