    boyouLaGleize,

The farm dad and some of his buddies were billeted at was in Spa. I have heard dad mention Trois-Ponts so I know he was there. Dad told me he would have the folks back here in the States send him popcorn and when the mail/packages would get delivered it was always a good time. The Dairy farm was owned by the Masson family. I have attached a picture of the farm, some snapshots, and the business card of Mr. Masson. Dad also told me that when his outfit was finally pulled out of the area, the young Masson son went with them to be dropped off at one of the larger cities (Brussels maybe?). The son had to do a stint in some kind of civilian force that helped direct traffic.

I can't tell you much more than this but I sure would like to know if there are any surviving family members. The older Masson parents would be long since deceased but there might be children in the area. If there is any way you could check this out for me I would be greatly indebted to you. Wouldn't it be something if you could find someone in the family that remembered the American visitors and I could put my dad in touch with them? What a longshot that would be. I'll ask dad about the other towns you mentioned.

Let me know if you can run anything down on the Masson family,

    Greg

...one last blurry photo of dad taken during the Bulge with one of the weapons he carried. He is next to a foxhole and of course,...there is a poker game going on behind him. I have to keep reminding myself the cameras back then all had manual settings so if you didn't really know what you were doing, good clear photos were hard to get. I also lose some resolution in the original photographs are all 2" X 3" and I blow them up quite a bit.

            Thanks for all information .

Becco is a little village where men of 82 ABN take good time before they return to the line of fire during the Bulge.
It's not very long from my house,I try next week to make some pics of the village and the area.
I'll try to find the farm on the picture and ask people about Mr and Ms Masson.

              boyoulLaGleize,

I would greatly appreciate any and all pictures you can take and send me. I would like to show Dad what the area looks like today. I sent a letter to a "Marc Masson" that I found through Goggle Earth thinking he might be a family member. Who knows,...send me a PM when you get a chance. I'll send you something for your efforts.

                boyouLaGleize,

Christmas Greetings from the U.S. I was looking through some old postcards my dad brought back from Europe and I came across one I think is near where you live. I will attach a couple of photos of it. Maybe the place is still standing today? In any event, I thought you would enjoy viewing it. The yellowish tint is due to poor lighting...

                          boyouLaGleize,

Wow,... you work fast! Thanks for the information and links. I thinks it is very interesting to be able to view "then and now" photos. It looks like a nice place to stay and dine. I don't know if dad was actually there or not....I'll have to ask him and see if he remembers being there.

Thanks for your effort and reply...thank your wife for me too.

I hope you both have a Merry Christmas and a Happy ( & prosperous) New Year.

                          Greg
