Well its been about 5 or 6 weeks now and I think I finally have the time to finish my room. With the birth of our second child it has been hard to find time just to cut the lawn. Hopefully I will make some progress this week. Of course, pictures will be provided.

        Eric
        I once flew in a B-17, B-24, & a B-25. Next, I want to fire an 88 round.

No, the cinnamon teal is real. I shot it when I was a teenager and I had it mounted. It will be in the room when it is done.

Eric, looking forward to seeing your progress photos and the finished war room stuffed with all your "toys", but that aside congradulations to you and your wife on your second child. Somewhere in there you might even get to sleep .

Thanks everyone for the comments! I spent half a day sanding and putting more compound on the wall. This is the part of the job I do not like. I should have paid someone to do it and it would have been done already. The only reason I didn't do that is it cuts into my spending money for medals.

Don't sand between layers Eric! It does not help you. Just take your spackle knife and scrap off all the surface lightly to remove the little loose bits and put on another coat. Do this 3 or 4 times and it will be very smooth and require minimal sanding. Good job so far!

                          Best, Sal

The only thing worse than moving is sanding dry wall. That is part of the reason I 'cheated' and put up stained paneling in my bunker.

It would help if I had a right angle drill, which I do not. However, not bad for someone who does not work in the trade. I have no doubt that in Germany the wiring is a work of art, but I am doing the best that I can. It is also easier to wire when it's a new house and not an add on. Wish I could have had this done beforehand, but that was not an option.

                              BTW, funny song!

First of all: Congratulations for your new family member!!

Let me tell you one thing about german wiring: sometimes its a mathematic job, but sometimes its like "hide-and-seek"..
Especially in the house where I live... There are wires in the walls at places you would have never expected..

Some electricians make really a good job by laying the wires in angles, so you only have to look at a installation and get in a 90°-angle at the wall to know where these wires run in the walls. This makes it easier to hammer a nail in the wall.

But this is possible as we have stone walls here, so at a wooden construction with spaces empty between the wood this wouldn´t work.

So you are doing a good job, I am really looking forward to face the results!!

You did some fine work framing in that room. I can't wait to see it finished.
