      Glenn,

You need to post your frost bitten soldier kit. That one is cool, if you get what i mean.

Again, great kit. Now that you have your M43 set up lets see him in cammo zelt, G43 pouches and "A" frame on "Y" straps!

You can have a lot of fun with that guy.

I think I need to move into a larger house so I can get full mannequins and dispaly.

      Cheers!

      Steve

thanks for the Happy Birthday Mark. Im 39 and dont feel a day over 38. Steve, I would love to show My frost bitten Feldwebl but like Clark Kent & Super Man, they are one of the same. actually this mannequin is the Feldwebl ensemble, I need to get another shortly to become the EM display seen in this thread. then Ill have to lope off His head and send it over to New Zealand for a make over. (shh, dont tell Mark Hes gonna be doing another. ) Im also going to get just a torso so I can display my marsh pattern smock on it with an all web gear set up to include a G43 pouch. no, no '43 dates on those pieces. that one I want to be all '44 and RBNr/RFNr #'s. I dont want people thinking Im eccentric you know. then all I have to do is build a wall to wall, floor to ceiling display cabinet. thats the easy part as Im a carpenter by trade and have access to all those crazy machines needed to do nice wood work. the only hold up, waiting for kids to stop coming over all the time. (Im paronoid like that. ) but soon I will throw on the zelt and/or smock and do a light front running Grenadier. I have to wait abit though till I get the itch again as putting this together was a trifle bit frustrating. nothing good comes easy though right? Glenn

I'm looking forward to seeing how you put together the display cabinet you mentioned. I hope you will post your progress, I'm sure that will be very interesting and this hobby really needs a few guiding hands when it comes to proper display cases. By the way, you're in good company, there are a few excellent carpenters on this forum, Seba and Skip to name a couple.

              M-42

Nice display. Well done and understated. A simple Heer Soldat display goes along way. I have a similar one myself in the kitchen, less the back pack.

That looks like an M-42 tunic you have there.

Bruce, thanks for the comment. yes, it is an M42 tunic but it is depot stamped St.43 same as His keilhosen. there is a thread I did on them as well as most of my pieces if you care to see details of them. just look in my "past threads". Glenn

                  Glenn,

Theres a few birthday spankings coming your way! You look like a buff dude so I will have to have NZMark help.

I didn't know you were carpenter? I use to be a carpenter in my past life. Actually I was a finish carpenter, new residential. We wouldn't touch a house under $400K and that was back in the late 80s. I have done allot of custom work in my day. I felt like an artist more than a wood cutter. I did allot of crown, kitchens, hard wood dens, curved molds, hung doors, mantels etc, etc.

I did a curved, hard wood stair case just before I quit and went back in to the Army. When stair was complete, it cost $80K. I miss it. I wanted to go back and continue but I was injured on the job with the army, and can never return to that sort of physical labor.

I have seen an M42 with 44 date. You will see alot of M42 HBTs dated M44.

buff Dude. I wonder if my Wife would agree. wow Steve, your more of a finish carpenter than me. I never did anything that major. base board, cabinetry, doors and the likes. I really am a commercial construction guru. although now I just point fingers, I of course worked my way up the ranks from a lowly laborer. but I do a ton of residential side jobs and can pretty much make anything happen. (it might take me a bit longer than a pro) but once you got the fundamentals down you can do anything. especially when you know the right people and ask the right questions. the company I work for has a wood working shop, I used to work with them alot on overtime so the machines are at my disposal.

                      Glenn,

I'm working on a master's degree in construction management. I'm not sure if it will help me or not after I retire. I Have done a lot of project management in the army and with my construction background I find it pretty easy.

I'm not saying I'm a smart guy but I'm very good with my hands. I have all the tools needed to build anything I want. I just remodeled my rental house to sell. Keep it up my friend, I want to see more mannequins!

                            Looks great!
Give him the finishing touch a pipe or a sigaret?

                            Best regards,
