Thanks Dave for the confirmation. If RZM marked indeed, HJ it is.

    Peder, great GJ Sani-boxes!

Brandyn, what you have is a standard military vehicle first aid box (verbandkasten). There should be a list inside with the contents described. They came in both steel and wood.

Dennis, in reference to your red cross breadbag, here are some pictures one in my collection. It was discussed in the past overhere. IMO paramilitary (DRK or Freiwillige Sanitätskolonne) or early reichswehr maybe? It's very similar with WWI breadbags, execpt for the colour.

I never saw standard heer or LW breadbags used in the field in this configuration, but never say never...

      Cheers

He was born in 1901 so he was 17 years old in 1918 when the war ended. i have never heard anything about him being in WW1. But he may have. He was given the diploma in 1972, so he must have joined the D.R.K. in 1922. The decorations i know about is, a KVK 2-class with swords, a EK2, a black WB, An ostmedalje. He was also at Stalingrad, but he was one of the luck few to come home agein. (in 1949)

                  thanks,
