Ben, about your query re makers logo on the sweatband of my hat. There is a logo stamped on each side but one is illegible and the other is very hard to make out but I see an Ma ??- about a four letter word. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi, this is a big (but excellent) thread to read! Managed it in installments (admittedly mainly looking at the M40 caps - drool....

).

That is a great looking original Panzer Grenadier cap. It would have started it's life as a tan brown cap, very similar in shade to the unissued first pattern tunic on P51 of the Kurtz book.
Congratulations on a spectacular new addition.
