                        Hi Yannick,,

                        Great start and with such nice clear images,, Personally I love the DAK pith helmets and in my opinion can be had at a fraction of their true value ..

                        Keep up the good work..

                        Happy hunting
                        Paul..

                          Thanks Paul.

                          I also love these pith helmets, and this is my first one, so it's a special one for me.

                          Regards,
                          Yannick

                            Bill T posted this one on "Panzermänner" but it equally has a place here.

                            The so far totally unexplained panzer version of semi-tropical M40 in wear again
                            (see post numbers 3259 to 3261 of this thread to see other examples)

                            However, the cap appears to be made of wool not twill so may-be this one is a panzer sidecap with a bill added to it ???

                            Here is what Bill said about the image;

                            "Here is a man from 23. Pz Division. (note cap unit insignia, Italian-Afrikan campaign ribbon)
                            Also, a friend pointed out that he is wearing 3 ribbons in the same button hole, which is uncommon."

                            Do we all agree that it is in fact an "Italian-Afrikan campaign ribbon" ??? (I think the photo might date from 43 ?),

                            Chris

                              This one also already posted on "Panzermänner", has a place on this thread. I hope W.Petz does not mind me posting it. He has some amazing photos.

                              I know "NZ Mark" will not, it should get him going with his love of panzer collar tabs on tropical tunics.

                              Here is what W.Petz said about it;

                              "Panzermann...wearing SVB 288 patch?"

                                Excellent photo's Chris, oviously proud of there previous Afrika service.

                                Cant say I have ever seen three ribbons worn through the button hole befor and yes it looks like an Italian/Afrika ribbon to me .
