I had to sell something, though....

As some of you might have noticed by visting my "Virtual Collection" thread,
that my beloved great-grandpa has recently passed away I wanted to share this photo of him.

He has always keep this little framed picture around.

                  Thanks Philipp,
Very detailed photo - can I ask if there is any inscription on the reverse?
The eagle looks...very badly sewn on! If at all possible can you scan the image and enlarge the eagle section?
                  Thanks for posting,

Nice photo Phillipp! Agree with Mark and would appreciate a closer look of the eagle.

                    Mark, LOVE the cap!!

Thanks for the comments guys and great new posts

Mark you know I love your latest addition. I also noticed the eagle application on the picture Philipp posted and it would be nice to see a closer view. It is a great picture.

                        Gentlemen,

thank you for the kind words.

                        - Mark, there is indeed an inscription on the reverse but I can not scan it since the photo is still attached to the mat.
The photo was taken while he was in American captivity.

Please find a close-up of the eagle enclosed.

Re-sewn by the man himself in captivity - Very Interesting
