Marcus, I was just rereading your comments and I think that when you compare you medals to my dads medals you are making a comparison that is very unfair to yourself. Both did what was asked of them in very different times places and circumstances. My dad had the advantage of being in a very clear cut war situation whereas the places you have been must have been much more technologically and psychologically challenging. (I say this with no experience in either place.) As far as I'm concerned The Queen saw fit to give you your medals for your service and that service and those medals don't take a back seat to my dad's or anyone else's. The willingness to do one's duty is all that counts. What happens during the course of that service is simply the luck of the draw. Fred

Oh, no problem!
The left one is the medal of the Marche de'l Armee, the two-day military marche of the Luxemburg Army in Diekirch, middle is the medal of the Berner-Marche of Switzerland and the last one is the (obsolete) Japanese Red Cross Medal for Special Members. No german medals, only badges

Fred, this is the US-Army Expert Shooting Badge I got at different partnership shootings with the US-Army. Above the US Air Force Marksmanship ribbon I got for such events too. The german "Schützenschnur" in gold (marksmanship cord) is the badge at the right. It is worn at the right shoulder and is in my opinion the most beautiful marksmanship award ever. The badge with the wings in the middle is the German Air Force Staff Service Qualification Badge. The two badges below are the Bundeswehr Proficiency Badge (gold) and the German Sportsbadge (bronze).
