    Thought I would post another case with some other caps. Top shelf is a nice Arty visor by Max Milde of Bunzlau. It has a delightfully high saddle shape (which drew me to it). Next to that is a nice M38 for a Heer General. Again, I can’t pass up anything with bullion... To the right again is a DRK field grade visor named to a DRK-Oberstfeldführer" that was picked up from Gerard.

    Lower shelf is an Army 17th Infantry "Traditions" Visor with, again, a nice high saddle shape. A Heer winter hat which came from a barn down the street from me. I didn’t know the eagle was still on it till I got it home (I need to pay more attention - I know). Finally a run-of-the-mill SS dress Fez.

              Attempting to utilize the non-horizontal walls of my office, I've figure out that those plastic angle hooks (to hang mirrors on walls) coupled with some metal curtain tie-backs to lock the bottom of the frame to the wall (which is 45 degrees) one CAN hang paintings on a ceiling! (This is good because there's no more wall space left up here.)

              My latest oil on canvas painting picked up from John Casino for in VERY reasonable price of an SS-Gruppenfuhrer in full dress uniform, wearing a variety of awards and an SS-Leaders chained dagger with the SS motto in the lower right corner. The canvas is 24 by 18 inches and, thanx to some guys in the edged weapons section who helped me ID a blade for my Class III dealer (and framer of all my stuff) he framed the canvas for nothing. Damn - I scored.

                    May I just offer my congratulations on your great collection and display.
                    I havnt seen too many but if I can achieve some thing like yours I will be very happy.
                    I was just about to submit a post showing the start of my collection (half a dozen pieces) but am now having second thoughts. Oh well topic says 5 to 500 peices.

                      Brad, your collection is for you first. I think all of us collectors just want to live in a museum with a couch and cable! Oh ya...books........lots and lots of books! A wife with pacience is an asset.

                            Nice collection. Gosh you consider that small, I consider mine microscopic compared to your especially since one of your items is worth my my entire collection. I like the general display!!

                              This must be one of the biggest "small" collections I've seen. You got enough stuff to start a TR museum. Terrific pieces, many not commonly seen. Congrants and thanks for sharing.

                                Some new stuff for the walls:

                                These were acquired from WAF member in Germany (possibly in 2006 but I don’t recall) who was fortunate to have picked up seventeen AW photos & prints and a single color Göring color print that were found rolled up in the attic of a town administration building torn down in Kassel three years prior to my getting them. The finder of the prints inquired about the buildings and found out that the buildings, used by the town of Kassel for administration, were formerly Gauleitung Administration buildings (they were part of the NSDAP Gauleitung Hessen).

                                The prints were found in the attic of a smaller storage building on the grounds. All were rolled up in one bundle. The prints all showed signs that they were framed at one point in time, some of the images were trimmed to fit their (now gone) frames. The guy who found the prints inquired with the construction workers if there was anything more in the main building which was torn down first. They told him "there was more Nazi junk - it all went into the rubble containers and to the dump". The prints are on high quality heavy art paper.

                                The Göring color print is pretty good size measuring - picture part: 45 cm (17.7 inch) X 55 cm (21,6 inch) while the total size is 49 cm (19.3 inch) X 78 cm (30,7 inch)

                                The larger Hitler print/photo measures 11.75 wide by 14.75 while the (blue) frame measures 18.75” by 23.75” and is marked: ‘Rühn’ in the lower right corner. I’m not sure if it represents a photographer or a studio. It’s framed in blue and matted in a lighter blue.

                                The smaller AH photo of AH in a brown shirt party ‘uniform’ - measure 6.75” wide by 10.25” high while the total frame size measures 13.75” wide by 15.75” high. PHOTO Is matted in black archival material and framed in an art-deco style frame. The photo/print is marked: ‘Nr.12 Photo-Uhlich-Leipzig’ in the lower left corner and ‘Reichskanzler ADOLF HITLER’ in the lower right corner.

                                Where antique prints/paper degrade over time, these were showing signs of age. A certain yellowing takes place which, if left unchecked can cost you. As such, these were restored/stabilized through an anti-fungus gas treatment to kill molds and prevent further damage from them, as well as the most important treatment, de-acidification, which chemically stabilizes the paper and prevents further deterioration. This was contracted to a restoration firm after which they were subsequently matted/framed using archival materials and put under UV resistant lexan.

                                These took forever to get up on the wall because my frame guy’s a Class III dealer who spends all his time pushing weapons rather than doing my framing. I kind of forgot about them till they got done.
