Norwegian "Arbeids-Tjensten" ("AT" labor service
Norwegian "Arbeids-Tjensten" ("AT") labor service was established in September of 1940
and was a copy-cat of the German ReichsArbeitsDienst (RAD).
Their emblem was also a shovel with the letters "AT".
Here is a Norwegian labor service member impression, consisting of ;
a typical Norwegian ski type cap (like the Rikshird dark blue caps),
double breasted "AT" Great coat in matching wool
and a German pattern belt with "AT" + shovel insignia
These troops were put to work on many projects including Wehrmacht support activities like road building and road maintenance in Northern Norway to allow better road access for German troops to the Lappland area of Northern Finland, the so-called "Nord front".
The armband as displayed would indicate assignment to Wehrmacht related duties.
The pin is actually a Female "AT" broche...not entirely accurate but it keeps the armband in place!
