        Kriegsmarine tropical

Kriegsmarine tropical which I purchased as an incorrectly restored LW tropical tunic! Fixed now!
(shown already before but worth repeating...see next post for comparison purposes!)

          Kriegsmarine Brown uniform

In comparison with the KM tropical tunic shown in the prior post,
now a Kriegsmarine so-called "Brown" uniform (often mistaken for tropical...),
which was intended for officers and senior NCO's as a informal garment or for work/office wear. This one was recently found in Tuscany Italy, completely stripped with added civilian buttons, now brought back to life!
Its an interesting piece, as it has flapless bottom pockets usually associated with the earlier style "stand-up collar" version.
This 2nd pattern is usually encountered with flaps on the skirt pockets (like the breast pockets).

            KM Brown uniform

These KM "Brown uniforms" (a casual substitute for the blue uniform) came in HBT as shown, cotton and ribbed corduroy.

Yes was also used by the Kriegsmarine (late war?)

                  not mine!

This is not mine... but a dealer offer. (for comparison purposes)
Its essentially the same brown uniform, same tan HBT material BUT
its the first model "Brown uniform" with stand up collar. Otherwise a twin!

                    Hbt

Even though these often came in cheap HBT material as illustrated by these 2 examples,
these were for sure intended for KM officers ! See tag!

                        liner

Note early 3 digit phone number!! Weimar era cap usually lacked celluloid sweat shield diamonds!
Many were carried over in the (early) Wehrmacht with modified insignia!
