totenkopf059 , thanks for the words of support , yes it does leave me a few extra pounds every week over and above my pocket money but i do work hard too . I am a night mare for throwing myself head first into things and this has given me a way of dealing with all my stresses by getting involved in the collecting.
I usually choose a topic each night and read as many of the threads about it as i can in the hope of educating myself on that particular topic.
Tiger in relation to your question , yes . Smoking weed is very popular in the UK and it is quite socially acceptable now. Our government banned smoking in all public places recently but you could never smoke weed in public anyway so it makes little difference that way. I think most of the people i know smoke it , cetainly more of them smoke than dont smoke....

I didnt know they banned smoking in all public places, when I lived in England there was smoking all over the place. I am trying to quit chewing tobacco and snuff so I can have more money but it is hard. Hang in there. Where did you get that trifold EK?

You are doing really well, I dont even have any medals yet and I have been collecting for about 3 years. I only have a IAB and some prussian organization medal and a Heim ins Reich party pin. That is a whole lot of EKs

totenkopf059 i had no idea until i read your profile there of how old you were. You come across as being older . I assume you dont have an income yet but i am sure that once you start earning decent money then you willl find ways to spend it other than collecting. Like women and fast cars. I never started collecting until i was 36 , only 1 year ago . Sometimes i sit and think , what have i let myself in for. I feel the need to have an EK from every maker . How much do you imagine that is going to cost me over the next few years....
                    I dread to think.

I'm thinking about the same thing with an EK from every maker. It willl be a long term project. How many EK's do you have now, including all eras and classes?

I think possibly around 40 or so with the majority of them being 1939`s .

Well as you know i dont really go in for this sort of stuff but as it was the guys last one , the runt of the litter so to speak i couldnt resist. The IAB is actually unmarked but there is some uncertainty about its maker. This is a quote from the sellers advert.
"As far as the badge goes you are getting a very unique IAB from an unknown maker, but many of us IAB freaks believe it may be the "real Wernstein" as the hardware matches perfectly the Wernstein marked sports badges. So an interesting piece."

Stomper I imagine that collecting will be alot of money but I choose to spend it on something productive instead of liquer, drugs, and other crap. I am going to own Machine guns when I grow up so I need to save up my money. Just think that a live MP40 costs about 15000 dollars, about 9000 quid. It is going to be expensive, but I would rather buy something historical than something sinful. And anyway how exciting is it when you open the package and you have a beautiful EK right in front of you.

It is going to get even more expensive over the years but I dont care.

I'm not just about EK's myself although it is what I collect mostly right now. I have many other badges also, like a Coastal Artillery, GAB, IAB, all classes of KVK's, Eastern Front and Westwall, 9 Wound Badges, 5 armbands, 3 beltbuckles a Hitler Youth Knife and more. I love it all. Need a PAB eventually. If I had more money I'd be raiding the estand even more. It's addictive!

My IAB I found out was a fake and I am going to sell it as a repro. Lost alot of money from it but I will be honest and not like the fakers.
