Hello Mark,
Nice to see that one of my former tropical tunic joined your very nice collection. For your information, I got that officer's tropical Sturmgesch******252;tz tunic (for free) in Holland ! Don't ask me what a tropical tunic was doing in Holland : I have absolutely no idea ! I can only guess it was used as a working suit (as the lower pockets had been removed) during the summer months ?
I remember that, as the prongs of the Totenk******246;pfe had broken off, they had been period stitched in place throught the eyeholes. However, the stitching of one had gone loose and I let it being restitched when I got the tunic.
Thanks Guys,
I'm pleased to show my collection-as I know how much I like to see others. That's the only reason I do it. It promotes the hobby, and keeps our interest on the boil.
Last year was a good one. I managed to aquire a tropical greatcoat, which is a fairly hard item to find, and a custom made field camouflage tunic that will stay in my hands for as long as I have an interest in collecting militaria.
Here are some 'top up' pictures for newer items.
Thanks Again.
Regards,
Mark.
Mark....I have just spent a very enjoyable evening pouring over the 18 pages of your thread. Your collection is FANTASTIC!!! I know you have heard that all before (since I have been reading comments to that effect all evening) but it really is a super collection...and, I might add, very well presented. You do museum quality work, and your drawings are awesome as well. You can bet I will be checking this thread frequently in the future. Thankyou for sharing your collection with me and all the others in WAF.
Mark !!!
