Close up on the camo Heer mdl 40 helmet. This helmet comes from Digne, South France, and was given to me by some farmers. Yes, it is an actual barn find, explaining its not so perfect condition.

The original basement this helmet was in. It was down in the corner where there is a big round jug. I didnt have a camera, or realise the importance of taking pictures on the actual day the helmet was given to me.

Other view. This side was very rusty, and I cleaned the rust off with the green part of a spunge. Not something I would do today.

The back. The wire has never been taken off, and exept for the rust cleaning, the helmet is in all original condition. It is 100% good, and several high up collectors were interested in it, including two frenchmen who regularly participate in the helmet forum.

Relic helmet found with the ex mass grave items from several posts above. Apparently, camo helmets were pretty plentyfull in southern France, as many of the relics I have found here have wires. Much more than would be expected, about 50%.

My favorite items found in that hole, two battle damaged coins with schrapnel still in them.

The marks the coins left on each other during the impact.

Lucky charms and HJ badge from the same place. Keep in mind all these items were left behind by a "professional" team of exhumators.

The deadly rifle grenade fragment again, and two bullets that also caused wounds to the germans from the ex grave.
