      About the exposition

      LS

At this moment a group of collectors that joined up are creating a permanent exposition with as main subject the German Fallschirmjäger in WWII. There are also some influences of HG and LW z.F units. The exposition is created in the so called "Liberty Park" museum in the small village Overloon, in the south of Holland.

Main goal was to get the huge bulk of beautiful objects out off the collectors closed closets, cellars and cardboard boxes and show them to the public.

This museum was founded - on the battlefields at the town Overloon just after WW2 (it had seen fierce fighting, particularly in October 1944 short after operation Market Garden).

"Holland is a full of Fallschirmjäger and Airborne related history, I suppose it is even the country were the most concentrated airborne operations during WW2 took place. Making this display very worthy to the museum and it 's surroundings (quote: WAF member Deejay)"

I did want to show some impressions...at this moment the set ups change almost every month......more pictures will follow because we are still in the building up stage......The museum donated the space for the exposition, the guns, rifles and pistols etc........the uniforms, equipment and mannequins are from collector(s)...... There is also a lot of period paperwork and period books on the FJ subject......

The set ups can already be visited daily, ask for the FJ display at the entrance......

              LS:

HG units did wear Waffen-SS camo clothing. For sure the helmet covers and the so called "tarnwendejacke " (Camo-smock).

The Waffen-SS M44 dot-pattern winter trousers are a mint pair and only gives a impression what could be used.........in that period....we collectors tend to live and collect according the books we read on this subject/hobby......I think in this phase of the war everone used what he could get and what fits..........and what gives some shelter............

                      Hi,

I've visited the museum some months ago. The FJ setup had most of my attention. My wife had to drag me away at some point. Keep up the good work. Respect .
