        Hey Allan,

I bet if you look at the tailor's label in the pocket inside the tunic... you will see that the tunic was made in Dresden and the officer's name is Robert Schmit...

Also...... the officer once vacationed in Central Florida for a while.....

        Cheers

          Grüß Gott Wade,

Outstanding displays and collection!!! Did you build the cases yourself? Also, were are you getting your mannequins from? They look very good.

I started with bits and pieces and gradualy build better and better.......I am still critical of some of what I have, but at present I am working on a book, and have averything out of display....all over the place. Once that is all done I will do a major rework! Here is how half of it looked until recently!

I think you win the great mannequins comp Glenn! #22 and #24 are just fabulous!

              Hello Gents,
thanks for your kind compliments. There is nothing more satisfying than making a nice display of your items. I have always tried to do that. The mannequins I have just gradually upgraded over the years, and many are just made up from pieces, just like a huge model kit. I have found that car smash repir putty (we call it "bog' here) is very handy! You can cut then remodell just like you would with a plastic model. The cabinets are simple.....and with a little imagination there is no reason you cannot have a nice museum type display at home.....in one form or another. The uniforms are safe too......I put down a layer of napthalene flakes on the floor....it looks like snow, but protects everything while looking nice. the cabinets are easy enough....buy four cheap internal ply doors.....bolt then together for the walls.....then a backing of plywood. Perspex cut to size at the front....screw it in...... and presto! Maybe make doors at the back if you like to get at the stuff regularly.

Thanks for your comments. I look forward to getting all this back together once I have finished my book and reposting (it's a huge mess right now!).....as I have got some new things to display! Cheers, Wade K.

I like this Guy Jacob. has anyone ever seen period photos of bullets being carried on the outside of the ammo pouches like that? I think that looks cool and a good way to display them but would like to know if they actually did that. if so, I will keep that in mind for my Guy. Glenn

                                Glenn,

Somoeone raised that same question quite recently, and if memory serves correctly, they did certainly wear them on the outside (extras). Hopefully someone will post a photo as you requested

Lovely displays Jacob, I too also love your 'Jaeger
