        Excellent Job

Excellent and I think the rat while not to every ones tastes adds to the realism of the display, theres nothing morbid about it at all.
Waiouru Army museaum here in New Zealand has a rat or two in there first World War diaplay and its the small details like that that make the display come to life.
Theres a taxidermist living close to me who uses a freeze drying process on animals that leves them looking very much alive, He recently did a deer head for me with all whiskers and eye lashes intact. Incidently he has displayed in his house Rats and Mice preserved by this process. So its not out of the question to add realistic props to your displays if you so desire.
        Regards
        Andrew MG34NZ

Fantastic! I saw a similar setting in the Imperial war museum in London, they added some flashing lights to make it look like explosions on the horizon.
            Congrats!

Thanks guys for all the new comments in this old thread. The rat had been where it is for about 4 years now, and it still looks exactely the same, and there have not been any problems with insects, etc.

I hope it for you as bugs can eat cloth... that's why plastic bags aren't good safe ceepers... they atract dust and the tiniest creatures eat dust... they lay eags and the larves of those can eat the fibres of your uniforms and flags, you get the picture... Dust and animals are the enemy of a collection!

An old thread, but never the less, I really like these pictures. I had heard that small dogs were used as ratters in the trenches of WWI, but I have never seen pictures of it.

Another thing to add to my list of dog things I must collect

                              Thank you for sharing.

Almost! You need to get a femur or skeletal hand to have poking out of the trench wall! Great display overall and attention to detail.
