Excellent Job
Excellent and I think the rat while not to every ones tastes adds to the realism of the display, theres nothing morbid about it at all.
Waiouru Army museaum here in New Zealand has a rat or two in there first World War diaplay and its the small details like that that make the display come to life.
Theres a taxidermist living close to me who uses a freeze drying process on animals that leves them looking very much alive, He recently did a deer head for me with all whiskers and eye lashes intact. Incidently he has displayed in his house Rats and Mice preserved by this process. So its not out of the question to add realistic props to your displays if you so desire.
