Examples exist of a cuffband bearing the inscription “Geschwader
Lützow” but no orders have ever been discovered relating to the introduction of
the band. A propaganda film was made during the period of the Third Reich,
however, which related to a fictitious fighter wing of this name. It is believed
that these cuffbands, although contemporary to the period, were probably
manufactured by one of the official contractors, for use during the making of
this film and are thus simply interesting curios and not authentic Luftwaffe
cuffbands.
