          the first is called ( glatte Dekoration ) meaning flat decoration
          the second is called ,,(Kraus Dekoration) faulted decoration .

          both so called on period jeweller ads ..
          and available right in to the 1940's as standard choice to make

          and ,your missing the,,,( Frack Dekoration) suit (dress) decoration

            I did search on the net but didn't find anything on the Frack Dekoration. Can you show me what it looks like?

              Great display of the different styles. I'm partial to the Prussian way of doing things, but I also like the way the Iron Cross looks on an Austrian "triangle."

                Bernie,

                A frack style mount hangs on an angle that compliments the cut of a civilian's suit lapel. Usually the decorations are in reversed order from the normal left to right orientation of the horizontal medalbar to a top right to bottom left of the frack bar.

                      Agree with Kay it's not that easy to call one Prussian, one other Bavarian. There was much mixed up and it often was up to the customers' choice.
