Wow, that's a great find, with a lot of original paint still there!
Please don't repaint it, as many use to do. Leave everything as is!

Proof that when they repainted equipment in the field everything got painted......

What a great find! It seems to have had at least 2 Gelb re-paints over the Feldgrau?

Yes, on the gas tank and front mudguard.

I would like to find other parts in same condition.

                        Seal the remaining paint.
To paint over this will be a crime.

OK, I genuinely don't understand that stance. If you're going to restore something, it's generally going to be either to a factory fresh or wartime used look. What's the point in retaining the rust and degraded paint of a further 80 years worth of neglect?

Yes, it's great that you can see the original paint and the layers tell a story. But that story can be preserved through photos whilst the bike itself can be restored to a much less sorry state.

Not trying to get into an argument, just not understanding the philosophy.

I agree, vehicles are a different matter than, say, helmets. If it were mine I would have it painstakingly restored to running condition (after a thorough photographic documentation). In it's present state of deterioration, it is merely a pile of rusty metal.
