MP38/40 pouch, straps replaced

Hi Guys, I purchased this MP38/40 pouch back in the summer (before I knew about this site). I think the pouch is original, but would like to hear opinions? The rear straps have clearly been replaced, was this type of repair carried out during the war?

Original pouch with postwar replaced backstraps ( typical norwegian army replacment ).

You're welcome. It is quite easy to repair if you have replacments straps ( for example from other damaged pouch ).

By the way; nice early mp pouch ( made till 1941/42 ).

Nice looking and in good state, if not for the replaced straps... Would the original ones be leather? They are not difficult to replace but a bit touchy, if you don't know the technique.

Don’t bother trying to replace the belt loops. You will just be wasting your time as unless it is perfect everyone on this board will point it out and tell you that it has no value regardless of how nice it is.
