    Shovel for review

    Hi to all,

    Is this an original W.W.2 German shovel? Thanking you all in advance and hoping to hear from some of you very soon.

      Not a German WW2 issued straight shovel as they were spot welded not riveted.

        I have two that look like litter mates to yours that are Swiss, at least that is what the surplus store had them identified as, their carrying cases were marked with the Swiss cross. Mine have letters like F.A. Sch. instead of that marking like yours.

          Trade mark. Ideal spaten it is a german manufacture.
          Rivets are used pre war normal year and waffen amt are
          Market too on shovel. Possible made for civil use ?

              This is not as swiss one. Lack of few signficant charactersitics for swiss one. German made ( Ideal spaten ) shovel from pre war period IMO.

                Here is mine that were identified on their price tags as being Swiss... I have two more like it but the letters are different.

                      Your are 100% swiss. Now take a look and compare them and see what is missing ( cause swiss is obvious from the begining ) and what is diffrent.
