AUER can with middle strap mount

I just purchased this AUER can, I can't recall seeing this type with the center strap mount. From what I found here on the WAF that they only went to Luftschutze personal minus the center mount. Is this true? Not sure if it's a Weimar, can't find any markings, maybe painted over.

I believe this centre strap mount gave the user the ability to arrange the canister at the front instead of the back, this was handy for motorcycle drivers for instance.
